      • I’m a writer, storyteller and facilitator, working with people to shape and share their stories.

      • Much of my work centres around personal stories — the ones that are sometimes hard to begin, or difficult to put into words. I support individuals through writing, conversation and collaborative work, helping them find a way into their material and develop it with clarity and care.

Alongside this, I work with schools, communities and organisations, creating participative storytelling experiences and workshops that are thoughtful, engaging and often a little unpredictable.

I’ve worked as a storyteller for over 20 years, performing nationally and internationally, including at the Toronto Storytelling Festival and the Scottish Parliament, and collaborating with a wide range of groups and settings.

My work spans traditional and reimagined tales as well as original pieces, including The Purple, White and Green — exploring the story of the Scottish Suffragettes — and Pedigree Tales, where I created life-sized animals using traditional willow weaving techniques as part of the performance.

I’m also a published author, with work ranging from traditional tales for adults and children to picture books and two novels. I write poetry and have contributed to a number of exhibitions.

In recent years, my focus has shifted more toward one-to-one work — editing, mentoring and ghostwriting — supporting the development of over 30 memoirs and personal writing projects. My approach is grounded and trauma-aware, shaped by a respect for the person behind the story.
